Sarah’s experience
Sarah is a Clinical Psychologist and Director of Lacuna. She has worked across both the public and private sectors, including in the Hunter New England (HNE) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and the Adult Community Sector. Now in private practice, Sarah helps adults navigate complex emotional and relational challenges by developing self-understanding, emotional regulation, and confidence in managing life’s difficulties. She also provides tailored support for both members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families, recognising the unique challenges faced by loved ones. Sarah helps ADF members process their experiences and reconnect with present safety while offering families guidance and coping strategies to navigate the emotional complexities of supporting someone in the military.
Sarah’s therapy model
Sarah believes that people need someone fully present with them as they process their emotions. She prioritises emotional regulation and deep self-understanding, empowering individuals to handle life’s challenges without being overwhelmed by fear, anxiety, or depression. When people feel more secure within themselves, they naturally build stronger relationships and a deeper connection to those around them. Her work is grounded in the belief that true resilience comes from developing the capacity to support oneself first, allowing for a more fulfilling and connected life.
